We love to innovate!
Here are just a few examples of our innovations over the years:
First book with computer generated artwork
In 1990 we created the first ever computer generated illustrations for books in the UK. We used Adobe Illustrator version 1.0!
Unique LaTeX typesetting solution
Manuscripts typed in LaTeX are complex for typesetters to paginate. In 1999 after 10 years of typesetting experience, we devised a unique coding system of “Structuring” LaTeX allowing accurate and fast delivery of the final PDF output. The system is still in use today by our typesetting team – that is why we are experts in LaTeX!
Interactive PDF design
In 2004 we designed a system allowing a graphic designer, or even a publisher, to create or modify the look of a PDF file generated from XML, without using any computer code.
One-size graphic labels
When illustrations on a page are resized, the labels resize too causing extra work for graphics operators. In 2015 we came up with a system that ensures labels always remain the correct size even when figures are resized.
